O&M Tech II, Corrosion - Columbia

Responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and testing of cathodic protection systems in a manner that supports Enable's mission, vision and objectives. Gathers data and/or operating information to mitigate internal and external corrosion.
This position is comprised of routine duties based on detailed instruction. Works under direct supervision. Responds to routine questions and problems within standards and guides. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform periodic surveys such as structure to soil, soil resistivity, riser surveys, rectifier readings and atmospheric corrosion surveys.
Assist in audits conducted by government agencies.
Assist with pipeline indirect inspection surveys, including close interval surveys (CIS).
Identify, report and take immediate action to correct unsafe pipeline conditions.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with DOT and all applicable local, state and federal rules and regulations.
Maintain strict surveillance and enforcement of all safety and environmental rules and procedures at all times.
Ensure tailgate safety meetings are conducted prior to starting activities.
Maintain accurate records pertaining to internal and external corrosion.
Assist in performing scheduled routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and equipment repairs.
May perform one or more multi-skilled operations, maintenance and installation duties in addition to the primary roles and responsibilities listed above. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: measurement, electronics, dehydration, treating, corrosion, pipeline, compressor, gas processing plants, amine treating facilities and regulatory compliance functions with direct guidance.
Minimum Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Six (6) months directly related experience preferred.
Valid State Driver's License.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Basic knowledge in the identification of various forms of internal and external corrosion anomalies.
Basic knowledge in the application and analysis of running smart pigs.
Basic knowledge in troubleshooting and repair of all types of equipment pertaining to corrosion technician trade.
Basic knowledge of data gathering from Cathodic Protection Systems and devices. Utilize a Volt Meter to take basic DC volt and amp reading at Test Points and Rectifiers. Familiar with CP criteria, such as 100mv shift, -8.5volt potential and polarity. Ability to join pipe flange assemblies.
Possess effective communication skills necessary to promote compliance with procedures and cooperation with individuals at various levels throughout the organization.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
High level of understanding of corrosion and cathodic protection theory.
Understand basic electricity, electrical laws, circuits, basic chemistry, and electrochemistry.
Ability to promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables.
Completion of required Operator Qualification (OQ) modules.
Effective communications in speech and writing, in person, via telephone, correspondence, email, fax, etc.
Ability to work and participate in a team-based environment to accomplish assignments.
Operate as a self-starter with individual drive and initiative to start, develop and complete limited scope projects and initiatives with guidance from more experienced technicians and/or supervisor(s).

Physical Requirements:
Ability to exert in excess of twenty (20) pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of ten (10) pounds of force regularly to move objects.
May be required to lift fifty (50) pounds or more.
Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, bending, kneeling, crawling and grasping.
Ability to move about unrestricted and follow safety and emergency response procedures and regulations.
May be required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch for reasonable periods of time.
Ability to travel long distances in a motor vehicle.
Ability to work in areas with limited access or cramped spaces.
On a routine basis, may climb ladders, walkways and scaffolds.
Working Conditions:
Ability to work with or near hazardous chemicals.
Ability to operate personal computer for extended periods.
Ability to travel frequently via truck (some overnight) to locations throughout the system to monitor equipment and perform work activities.
Ability to work outdoors in weather extremes and near equipment with potentially high noise levels.
Ability to carry a cell phone while on-call and respond to call-outs, potentially including weekends and holidays.
Ability to respond to emergency calls and/or call-outs and return to work while off duty.
Ability to work overtime (scheduled and/or unscheduled, nights and/or weekends), occasionally, as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces.
Based on business requirements, may be assigned to shiftwork.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
