Patient Access Representative

Kforce has a client seeking a Patient Access Representative in Columbia, Illinois (IL). Responsibilities:
Is cross-trained in all aspects of registration and scheduling
Excels on the hospital registration and multiple ancillary computer systems
Registers, verifies insurance, checks insurance eligibility, verifies authorization as needed, scans and retrieves documents in the Activefax system
Processes inbound and outbound calls in a consumer focused, appropriate and timely manner
Obtains necessary demographic information
Scheduled appointments
Financial clearance. including pre-visit collection
Provides timely and accurate non-clinical customer service
Accurate data entry and integrity of the electronic medical record
Cross sells other services as appropriate
High School diploma or GED/equivalent
1-5 years' experience in Healthcare industry
Customer service experience a plus
Microsoft Office knowledge
Exceptional attention to detail and maintain knowledge and competence with insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines as well as federal, state and accreditation agencies

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
